I am curious to know if anyone has been taking this medication for long term (10 years here). If so what has your experience been like?
I was weaned off the medication 90 days ago and now I find my anxiety and intrusive thoughts are back (the reason I initially started the medication).
I am not liking the idea of taking this for the rest of my life but now I am wondering if I should….

Hi I watched a brilliant programme about our meds and the advice was withdraw over a period of years rather than days weeks or even months more so that you had been on them 10 years. I`m no medical expert but this programme said most of the time that a recurrence of anxiety and depression is down to the medication itself and not a new wave brought on by something else. I`m on mirtazapine back up to 15mg and that`s been for over a year but maybe at the end of this year I`ll go down again. always discuss it with your doctor but don`t let them push you into staying on them make that decision for yourself.
This is withdrawal symptoms not your original condition coming back. I'm going thru the same but I'm off citalopram I have decided to start taking a very dose to see if it helps my symptoms
