Always had multiple sclerosis for about 17 years now. And then an easy road. Maybe easier than a lot but still hasn't been easy by any means. However one thing that I learned early in my diagnosis, is something called the spoon theory. I have found this helpful not only in my battle against my MS but also in my diagnosis of fibromyalgia, Hashimoto's disease and many other things that have gone along with those diagnosis. Most people with autoimmune diseases tire out very quickly either due to brain fog or just plain fatigue. Some people don't understand that. Especially with a disease that people can't touch or see. So The Spoon Theory goes like this. Give yourself and allotted amount of spoons let's just say for example you get five spoons. You wake up and you have to take a shower so that is one spoon. Now you have four spoons left. Now you have to make and eat breakfast or make your bed you have to make a choice because you have four spoons left and a long day ahead of you so let's just say you leave the bed alone. Now you're down to three spoons. I think you're starting to get my point. You have three spoons left and you still have to go to work get all of those jobs done while you're at work each taking a spoon, you need to fit in lunch at some point which takes a spoon, you need to drive to work, etc. I kept running out of spoons which is why I ended up on disability. I tried going back to work but I kept finding myself short-handed on my spoons and my job and boss could not have that. It came time to make a choice between family or work and then the decisions were change a diaper, feed a baby , play outside, stay inside and use play with pack and play. Again. This never ending story is just out of past frustrations merging into a new era of my life...play guitar, go to gym. Never gets easier. Maybe a little w dmts but every day new cha)edges. Like I said again. I use this w my panic disorder, ms and any fatigue issues. Again, sorry for rambling..
