Has anyone had side effects from Lexapro? Do you take it at night/morning? With or without food?

I took it in the morning. I remember the side effects of it when I first started it 5 years ago. really bad anxiety. Last month I had to change pharmacies and went for a month without it then tried to restart it and the side effects were terrifying. I chose to not go through with it. The side effects were too much this time around which resemble a major panic attack.

I have taken lexapro many times through my journey of anxiety and currently take 20 mg. I always come back to it. I take 10mg split in two doses morning and evening. Starting out I always experience insomnia, heartburn and daytime sleepiness. At about the 8 week mark it just disappears. I always start feeling much better a few days in but for me the 8 week mark seems to be magic and all of a sudden the panic attacks are gone. I still experience anxiety sometimes even high anxiety on it but my mind is clear enough to use my tools and think through things logically. I don’t necessarily take mine with food, but I do take it before breakfast and before bed. I’ve never had any side effects I’d consider bad enough to outweigh the good personally.
