oh I have five tablets 3 phone two tvs. One still in the box..yyi Could go on on but you get the picure
So I think it's about time. I tend to go way over board when I have time and access to the web. Hey amazon, how is your day going? How much money do you want from me today Mr. Amazon? Oh wait, I forgot I already bought 50 bags of goldfish for my kids but another 50 no big deal. My husband and I have three kids so 5 people to account for. We collectively own 9 tvs, 6 iPads, 5 iPhones, 2 android phones and enough supplies for the apocalypse. However, we are very tidy and orderly so no one would know how much stuff we actually have. We both suffer a bit from OCPD (a little different than OCD). Kids shampoo.....oh wait, they out grew using kids stuff. When I realized I've gone off the rails which happens a few times a year, I take a look and start to declutter other things that may never get used and feel OK due to donating all of the time. We too live on a fixed budget and have to maintain two homes for medical reasons. One on the East and West Coast of the country. My two suggestions: 1-is there anything that could replace your time with shopping? 2-can you get rid of some of your things and/or even sell them. In a really bad period I have had to sell some nice things to make the money back and that was a tough pill to swallow. However, I don't think having a year's worth of something I too much. Especially when it's things on the regular like detergent and toilet paper. I honestly think my habits got worse once COVID hit and at the time couldn't get baby wipes. Hang in there. I get it 100%! I have been spending way more time on this site in various forums which has helped with spending!
Yeah I didn't do this until COVID hit but controling my spending..I suddenly had so muchextra money and I guess I just went overboard...I need to try to get back on the boat
I can get like that, I have to take stock regularly, then decide what to buy. For me it's always having at least 2 of everything, especially Passata, Tinned Tomatoes, Tinned beans and sauces. I had to live with 2 kids on a very small income for awhile, and my husband kept me short of money.
I don't go and get loads of toilet roll, but I have a couple packs of candles, rechargeable batteries, and light bulbs, and I'm quite good at making things do double duty.
Cheers, Midori
