What's your favorite TV show to put you in a better mood?
One of my favorite TV shows is Ted Lasso. He's The penultimate fictional character with wisdom born of grief, trauma and loss but never losing sight of the bigger picture and somehow remaining positive to embrace change and move forward in life. He is not impermeable to mental health setbacks but remains humble in the face of success, conflict and failures alike.
"BE A GOLDFISH"
Heres a brief explanation for that quote that I'm embracing today as I started my morning with some frustration and irritability and I'm trying to turn it around before I leave for work.
"Ted Lasso tells his players to be goldfish because goldfish are said to have a 10-second memory. The message is to move on from mistakes rather than lingering on them. "Be a goldfish" is about more than just sports, however. Lingering over mistakes is all too easy in life, but this memorable saying from Coach Lasso serves as a reminder that people are defined by how they react to mistakes, not their mistakes themselves. It's important to accept mistakes in any part of life and be able to move on quickly.
Being a goldfish applies to any aspect of life, but it is especially wise in the context of sports. Regarding soccer specifically, every player is bound to make a mistake over the course of a 90-minute match. It's essential for any player to be able to forget those mistakes and move on to the next challenge. Little pieces of sports wisdom like this demonstrate why Ted, a man who doesn't know a thing about soccer, is able to coach the sport. He may not be able to discuss tactics, but as a motivator and a leader he is able to give his players the tools they need to succeed."
Happy π Sunday, everyone. Be kind to yourself and each other ππ

Thanks for the Vegas well wishes! I can't wait for Tuesdays game! We could win the π Stanley Cup...Yay!!
I'm doing a LOT better after my TMS session last week. April and May were really rough mental health months and I think I've finally gotten the titanic βπ’ going in the right direction. The whole spring has been a little bit of a challenge with the financial crap in Feb and such.
I've gotten all my insurance reinstated at work and it will go into effect July 1. Had to locate my marriage certificate for proof of coverage for my husband. THAT was like looking for a needle in a haystack. We've moved 3 times since Nov '18 and it took 2 days to find it. Only a few weeks to go!
Hope you're having a great Sunday β£οΈπ mushrooms for everyone ππ
Sorry everyone, but Yellowstone puts me in a good mood. I love the romance between Beth and Rip. I also love Beth Duttonβs attitude (sometimes). I wish I could be her when people piss me off instead of going off to cry somewhere. There is just something about the show that makes me forget about life for a while. I know there are thousands of negative things going on in the show both political, animal rights, murder etc but itβs one of my favorites.
BETH DUTTON is my muse cuz I wanna be as unfiltered as her!! I adore Yellowstone. But 1883 and Elsa Dutton is my HERO!! You must have watched the prequel already. If not... Start binging NOW!!!!
Happy Sunday ππΆπ΅β£οΈmy team is 1 game from the Stanley Cup Championship π!! We play on Tues at home and hopefully we will win it ALL!! Such a HUGE accomplishment since the franchise has only existed since 2017. It's so exciting. I'm off that day so we will be watching!! Can't wait!!
That's some thick thicket!! You'll definitely need a pixie gate soon. I still love to run when my body allows me to. Did 3 mile run today with Grace. And 2.5 walk with old man Smokey. Beautiful morning π
The Show I can zone out on is Millionaire Listing: Las Angeles. Itβs a Real Estate reality show. Josh Flagg is my favorite character, but theyβre all colorful in their own right. I pick up great info about real estate so itβs not totally mindless and I get to see the inside of Absolutely Mahvelous houses, Dahling. Itβs on Bravo channel for cable users in the US.
Iβve put Ted Lasso on my to watch list on Netflix. ππΌπ³ ( I know this isnβt a goldfishβ¦β¦π)
I started watching drag race: UK vs the world last night! And All Stars in in the middle of it's 8th season right now. Can't get enough of the drag queens π
I canβt get the drag race program unless I get some kind of whackadoodle set up with a subscription. I wish I had caught the program while it was on Netflix. I didnβt know it was on there. I guess Iβll have to move to the UK. Anybody have an extra bunk? Whatβs the equivalent to Craigβs List over there? π
ULGH...most days I feel 70 when I wake up. All my nerve damage and fused spine sections give me pains daily. I can predict the weather by how much my body aches. It really sucks in the winter when the temperature fluctuates too much. The heat of summer π is better overall. But yeah... unfortunately I've got a lot of physical health problems that make me a lot older than my 49 years.
Yeahhhhh all my spine conditions are chronic degenerative and permanent nerve damage. It SUCKS!
You've got a lot of aches and pains too. My hip problem has calmed down for the moment. LOTS of stretching and rest. Which meant no dog walk or going to the park or walking. That's part of several factors that converged in a perfect storm and made the last 4 weeks so hard...I was in constant pain and couldn't get out of bed or motivated.
The worst has finally passed after my TMS session and once the pain calmed down, so did the depression symptoms. Its all connected.
Just woke up. Not good sleep. I love πππ€€πI eat them every single day. The regular ones, not the πͺβ¨ magic ones. Gonna ask Dr about HRT in July. Can't wait to see what she says.
That's a VERY bad dream. Not eating mushrooms for me is like being out of water for a fish π wouldn't know what to do.π
Looking forward to it, Kitty girl. Great news ποΈ about the house process! It's about time you get to move forward. I'm so happy for you π»π can't wait to see you in your new home π‘
There is a British show called "Last Tango in Halifax" that is my favorite "escape" show. It used to be on Netflix, but it is now on Prime and you have to pay for it (in the U.S.). You can try it and pay for one episode to see if you like it. I love the acting in the show, and I am a big fan of Sara Lancashire. Sally Wainright is a writer and producer of the show. If I want a little bit of tension, I like "Happy Valley", which is also written and produced by Sally Wainright, and includes Sara Lancashire. The acting is also excellent in this show. If you enjoy Eugene Levy you can try "The Reluctant Traveler", which is a light show with short episodes. I agree with everyone else, I loved Schitts Creek.
