Has regular moderate walking helped anyone get over severe anxiety completely?

I walk moderately. Its 3 months and I still have lingering anxiety that prevents me from being completely present for my children. I take Citalopram (30). Has anyone had similar experience and did things get better?

Any exercise will help, but I've found resistance training to be more effective. The added exertion really gets the endorphins flowing and you can "work off" some stress. Plus, after you've been at it for a while you'll feel stronger and, if you're eating right, love the way you look. Having said that, make sure to consult a doctor or physical therapist before you start, so you don't hurt yourself.

I enjoy walking and it helps moderately. But for more feel- good hormone release, some regular exercise that gets your heart rate up and makes you sweat and pant will probably work better. Kickboxing, weightlifting, dancing, swimming, etc
