Hello I get anxiety 2 to 3 times a week. Having it at work is the worst. I currently take clonopin and buspirone for the anxiety. I'm just looking to connect with others with similar experiences so we can share tips and experiences for dealing with anxiety.

Looking for others with anxiety
Hi Doglover51. I'd like to Welcome you to an amazing community.
The best advice that I can give you regarding Anxiety is that unless
you address the root of the problem, it will continue to hang over your
head each and every day. Medication can take the edge off the symptoms,
talk therapy can help put you on the right path by addressing the issues causing
the anxiety. The longer you stay stuck in this cycle of fear, the longer it goes on.
Accepting the fear that it gives you as non threatening physically is the key in
going forward. Finding other methods/tools that you can practice each day to
strengthen your mental status can be the solution to your problems. If not, then
you continue being in a state of free flowing anxiety with the adrenaline levels
never really going down.
I'm happy you are here with us. As you talk with others, you will realize that you
aren't alone in your journey. That we understand and most of all care about each
other. :)xx
Thanks Taosh, I've had quite a journey with Anxiety as well as Agoraphobia.
In researching and helping myself get better, I discovered so many other ways
to enhance my therapy sessions and medication. Just one of them being
my daily Meditation and Breathing practices. In time, we all find what works
the best for us. Life is now Good xx
Welcome

For my anxiety I was seeing a therapist every 2 weeks. I also take clonopin. I'm taking buspirone but don't think it's doing much.
Hi have similar anxiety few times weekly over chronic illness and work . How does buspirone work for you psych suggested it for me . Currently use Xanax but only when bad attack . Use coping and mindfulness techniques which work. Takes me 1-2 hours of meditation exercise yoga etc to calm down . Have fear of meds . But been surviving this way few years . This site is very helpful . People are out there with similar symptoms U R not alone
Hey, welcome aboard the train! This place is great. A lot of people mentioned this place is great. Agora1 spoke the truth about what anxiety is and how to tackle it. I suffer from GAD, PTSD, and Panic Disorder. It went misdiagnosed for years. Once I found out what it really was, through the help of an amazing psychologist, I was able to determine what my problems are.
The best way to get better is learning what your triggers are and learning how to cope with it. Medication does work for some. I am currently switching medication and am going crazy not being on anything. I was using Zoloft, but was unsure if it was helping or not. I am now learning it was, but not enough. As a last resort, I started with THC gummies, hemp based as I am in a non-legal recreational state. The psychoactive properties allows me to function without the constant bashing of "I should be doing something else but my mind is telling me to focus on something I can't control" feeling. It helped me and pushed me to go the medicinal marijuana route.
Another thing I love is music. I like to find a good tune, after a few gummies, and re-evaluate my feelings. It has helped me to understand why I am feeling the way I do, and most of the time its always a different issue, if not one I have already been working on. That with a good session of CBT does the trick for me.
The one thing I must warn you, the process of getting better is hard. Just know, you are not alone. Posting on this board can help you as well. Whether just writing out your feelings to getting advice on trying something different. Hope the best for you and if you ever need someone to talk to, just message me.
I understand the anxiety part. For me I didn't notice it for years. It more came to light when the pandemic started. I am fortunate to have the site, my therapist and supportive friends and family. Most of my family.. We are here for you
I have a lot of the same Doglover. I have some serious imposter syndrome. Even with lots of feedback at work. I think I struggle with feeling like I should be super focused, driven, and productive at work 100% of the time. After all, they are paying me right?
