Good morning, my Dr. Is recommending a treatment of ketamine therapy. Just curious to know if anybody has tried that's in the past. I'm skeptical, hand read both good and bad. Just don't want to mess up recovery. Thanks in advance!!!! 👍❤️🙏💪

I did four ketamine infusions a few years ago and quit because I did not find it helpful for me and all it did was greatly amp up my anxiety and was anything but calming and comforting. My primary issue has been more social anxiety with depression and not deep depression so that could have been why it wasn't helpful for me. I also never liked smoking weed because it caused me anxiety and was not relaxing either. It could have been that my dosage amount was to high in hindsight. Supposedly one of the benefits of ketamine is that it can help you have a spiritual experience but I didn't need ketamine to be able to do that. It's also expensive at around $500 per injection and not covered by insurance at least when I did it. It is also very physically demanding and you can't drive after the injection so someone needs to take you there and pick you up. I had also considered TMS treatment at the time but there wasn't a clinic near me at the time that took my insurance for it but there is now and I have been doing Deep TMS treatment for about a month now and have found it to be extremely helpful without side affects. The unfortunate reality is that we all react differently to meds and therapy so my experience could be totally different than yours. There is also a ketamine spray (Spravato) that is available and even covered by some insurances so you might check into that also.
