Going 20 mg to 10 mg Lexapro (By Psychiatrist Advice) After 4 Weeks.

I was told to lower my dosage of Lexapro that I've been taking for 4 weeks (Started Off At 10 mg for 1 week then 20 mg After). I went to a follow-up appointment today where he advised that I went back to 10 mg due to that it caused me emotional blunting and tiredness during the day. I specifically asked if it would cause withdrawals symptoms or symptoms of anxiety and depression to come back but he said no as long as I took the medication daily.

Anyone ever experienced this in such a short time? I wanted to taper off going 15 mg to 10 in 1-2 weeks but apparently they don't make Lexapro at 15mg, so im stuck with 10mg now.

Not looking for medical advice, just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this. And would give personal advice on what to look forward to.

it’s typical to adjust dosages like this until you find what works best for you. If you start feeling worse go back to the 20mg. Or ask your doctor to try a different medication.

No real advice but to say I was giving Lexapro and with just one dose I felt a ridiculous amount of fatigue and bluntness. Did not like it at all and stopped taking it. I’ve had great success with propranolol > zero side effects… just a thought to maybe ask your Dr about. Self advocate for yourself and speak up if you’re not liking a certain medication.
