weird symptoms from clonazepam

I was recently on Mirtazapine and gabapentin probably off now for over 10 days. The withdrawing from the Mirtazapine was horrible so my psychiatrist recommended I take the gabapentin. I did that for two weeks and became very constipated and had to urinate a lot so I tapered off. I tried Amitriptyline for two days and did not like how it made me feel last Wednesday/ Thursday. I have not been able to sleep so my psychiatrist recommended I up my clonazepam to .5 at night was at ..25. I wake up after a few hours sweating with a high heart rate. Then get shaky and chills. I don’t know if it is still withdrawals or the Clonazepam. I’m very anxious and have back muscle spasms.

I suspect it is withdrawal from Mirtazapine, i took it for about a year, when i stopped i had really severe withdrawal symptoms for several months. I ended up having virtually every medical test going because no one would believe it was withdrawal .Eventually i went back on a low dose which sorted out most of the symptoms then VERY slowly reduced the dose over a period of two months or so.

Hi Med0119, I am sorry about what you are going through. Clonazepam helped me tremendously in the past. After about 5 years now it seems not to be helping but giving me more bad side effects . The Psychiatrist is trying to wean me off- a tough road. Better to avoid clonazepam entirely if it is possible. My prayers for you to recover soon.

It could be your gabepentin---after you stop it the side effects can go on

forever! I am on 1800mg and I cannot get off because of distress it causes! Good Luck!
