Anxiety: how to control thought process🤔🤔

Trick your mind to stop worrying and overthinking 🤔🤔

Almost everyone say that during anxiety, focus on positive thought rather than negatives one, then we will be able to overcome or deal with anxiety. I agreed to this point, that what we think plays an important role to control anxiety.

And in my understanding, CBT ( Cognitive behavioural therapy) needs continuous practise of watching our thoughts, try to think both perspectives of a thought, positive n negative n only after that come to conclusion that we’ve to concentrate more on positive thought. But here, question arises in my mind that when anxiety hits who’ll decide or how can we decide that the thought which is coming to our mind at that time is positive or negative? And when we dont know which thought of ours at that time is positive or negative, then what will happen if we take our negative thought as positive but its otherwise n vice versa? So what I understand is that at the very moment of anxiety, we must not focus on the thought coming to our mind, positive or negative and just try to distract ourselves from thinking process, or try to sit calmly( which i know is next to impossible) just keep telling urself it will pass. And once anxiety phase passes away then we can think about the thought which triggers anxiety, try to analyse it based on facts and decide is it postive one or negative, and note it down what it is, so that next time if it happens again, you have ur own help available to you. I may be wrong but this what I understand and it helps me sometime, not all times. Whats your opinion about it? Is it worth to share our thoughts on it?……….pratyaya singh#anxiety #perspectives #CBT # Cognitive behavioural therapy #mindset #thought process #mental health issues #positive mind set #personal experience #face it fight with it #positivity #motivation #self motivation

Hi pratyaya :)Getting to the point of where I am today has to do with having taken in all the

advice I had been given over the years by therapists and psychiatrists.

I no longer have trouble weeding out negative thoughts and knowing that they

are just that.

One of the things I ask myself is "Is this thought doing me any good" If the answer is

"no" then it is swept out of my mind. Being human, those thoughts tend to come back

over and over until we stand firm in our decision of it being a hindrance and not benefiting

us.

I firmly believe that the mind needs to be decluttered each and every day in order to

get a good night's rest. For me, I use Meditation and Breathing before falling asleep

and then allow my subconscious mind to absorb the positive words it's hearing throughout

the night.

The following morning, the same ritual in order to start the day off on a positive step.

I've been doing this for years now and it as proven to be a positive point in my mental

well being. The more we clarify the thoughts in our head, the easier it is to live less

stressful lives. Great Post my friend. I always enjoy your philosophy on Mental Health :) xx
