ativan taper off

my psychiatrist knows I want to taper off of Ativan and really clean out my nervous system. anyone experience this?I tried going from 1 mg to .5 mg every other day but that was too fast. currently not taking anything else for anxiety.

Hi and thank you for your post.If you have been taking a medication for a while, the advice for a taper is to go low and slow.

Talk about how you feel with your psychiatrist. You can always go back to the last dose that worked and then try again. None of us have the same chemistry. Neither the doctor or their patient know what will happen with a dose change.

You might get a pill cutter at your pharmacy and cut the pill into smaller pieces.
