Hi Steph. I was given a small amount diazepam by my GP for my anxiety when travelling. You may want to contact your doctor. I have taken Kalms in the past and found it only really effective for mild anxiety.
Kalms have certainly helped me a little, but you should look at propanalol, if you haven't already. This has been a wonder drug for me, along side the regularly mentioned Claire Weekes books.
As for IBS, I suffered with this for years, it was a major problem that nothing could touch and left me in excruciatingly embarrassing situations as well as huge amounts of pain. Until propanalol took control of the anxiety, and suddenly, almost literally overnight, the IBS was gone. I'm back eating and drinking whatever I want, even overloading, occasionally, on fast foods and redbulls.... Still no problem.
My doc told me that I could do either. Propanalol works in an instant, so its up to you. My prescription is for 3 a day, I usually take 2. First time I took them I felt really slightly light headed, but not at all since. It could have been psychosomatic as I've been putting off using drugs for years. But either way, they worked wonders from day one and I've never had an attack with them. If you do start, them maybe start when you know you have a couple of days at home so you have the confidence of safety.
