has anyone received ketamine therapy for severe and resistant depression? What was it like and was it helpful? Did you have a support person with you during the treatment and how can that person be helpful?
My boyfriend is starting this next week and I’m going with him. I want to support him the best way I can and really hope this is helpful! He has struggled with severe depression for most of his life. He is the best human and I want him to feel better.
thanks and love to all.

I did do the intranasal ketamine therapy. 8 sessions. Honestly I don’t think it did much for me. IHad high hopes and I’m disappointed. But everyone’s experience is different and I wouldn’t discourage anyone from trying it.
I did four infusions and found it didn't do much for me either, frankly i'm not sure what all the buzz about it is. It's a hallucinogenic and can be quite disturbing if you have anxiety. It's also physically draining and I was wiped out for the rest of the day. It does allow for a spiritual experience and I was able to see that we are all connected but I didn't need ketamine to do that. My main issue has been anxiety not major depression and it might help more for that. It's also expensive and not covered by insurance. But everyone is different as Derwood says and I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it either.
