social anxiety
Hi, there. I look down a lot walking in public. For me, it is rooted deeply from feelings of inferiority, a lack of confidence, not being good enough for anything, a sense of embarrassment, like I really want to hide and don’t want to be noticed because I don’t deserve to exist. My upbringing was very negative and destructive to my overall well-being. These days these feelings have lessened a great deal. I am getting to the point where I feel like I can work, I haven’t worked in 3 years. I have had anxiety, depression and OCD (excessive hand washing) for years, but I feel like I am coming out of it. Recovery is a lifelong journey, so I want to keep going in that direction and not take wellness for granted. There is always a root cause for a feeling, especially a negative or destructive one. Communication with someone, talking it out on this forum, or with a friend or therapist, can help you to get more in touch with yourself to find out why you are having your issues. Once you find out why, you can find a path to overcome it.
