Treatment resistant anxiety

Could anyone share with me if you suffer from treatment resistant anxiety please ? ..I’m crippled with anxiety and the psychiatrist has tried me on a lot of medications which either I’ve had nasty side effects from so had to stop or they just haven’t helped …he’s now said I may just have to live like this ? I’m terrified..I know medication isn’t the whole answer and I’m in therapy ,but I think if the edge isn’t taken off of this tourture that wakes me up at 4 am I can’t put in place anything that’s going to help me ..I also has M.E and I’m ashamed to say I’ve developed an addiction to cocodamol to help with the anxiety,life’s cruel and I feel hopeless… can anyone help me? Thank you
