This was very sad news. She did suffer with anxiety and depression, even wrote a book about her struggle. It was called "River of Hope-My Decent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope."

I was not aware of the book.. This is something that affects so many people.. It's a daily challenge. It's great to have all the beautiful people here to support each other ❤️.

It is a daily challenge for sure, Lve2dance. Support goes a long way in our ability to cope.

Thank you 🙏 very much for this post. I have known too many people who have taken or tried to take their lives. She was such a vibrant person. I wasn’t aware of her mental health struggles, until I read about them today on my iPhone. She said her problems started when she was three and a half and molested by someone in her family. She had no one she could confide in. I have given out the

Suicide Prevention Hotline number to a number of people who have come on HU

with suicidal ideations or seem despondent.

It is very positive that we R hear 4 each other.

Hugs 🤗 Shnookie

Hello to all. I was in shock when I learned of Naomi Judd's death due to mental illness they said. I knew of her struggle with hepatitis C but had no idea she struggled with severe depression. Saw her last on the Country Music Award. She did not seem herself at all but like a made up doll and somehow like a puppet. It made me sad. She was a woman of courage and talent as all the Judd women are. I am sending them my condolences and prayers. Please everyone on this site take care of yourselves and if you're in a very dark place call the suicide prevention hotline.🦋🌈

I was really shaken with the news of her death. Why? I loved her music and saw her in concert several times, but the biggest reason is, that could have been my story had I not fought for changes with my doc. I have been down that very dark road and know the struggle all too well. It wasn't that long ago that I asked for a change in meds because I was not happy, angry and anxious all the time. It was affecting my marriage and my few friendships. I had to let go of the stigma that if I needed stronger meds, it wasn't my fault and that I needed to accept that reality. Shame is a big part of having mental health issues. You gotta love yourself enough to reach out for whatever it is that will keep you out of that darkness. You're worth it. My heart goes out to Wynonna, Ashley, and family 💔💔💔

It's true it's important to reach out to get help.. It takes strength to admit when need help and to try to get it. 😁.

Very sad news. It took great strength for her daughters to release a statement saying they lost her from the disease of mental illness. As sad as I was when I heard the news I also felt less alone in the world. Even now she is continuing to grace the world with a gift.

Definitely.. It's unfortunate that so many people don't really understand unless they are living with it.

Naomi Judd was beautiful & very talented.

She had a house full of "trophies & awards"

I believe Ecclesiastes 9:11 says it best...

" I have seen that the swift do not always win

the race, nor do the mighty win the battle,

nor do the wise always have the food, nor do

the intelligent always have the riches, nor do

those with knowledge always have success,

because time and unexpected events overtake

them all"

Mental illness has robbed many families💔

Tragically yes.. The only difference is that she was famous, aside from all that she was just like anyone else.

Do you do anything risky because of it

She was so brave about her disease of the brain. Her daughters are very brave as well. She said in a 2017 interview that mental illnesses are diseases of the brain - like heart disease is a disease of the heart. She also emphasized depression wasn’t about being happy or sad, it was a chemical imbalance that is partly genetic. Quote from Naomi - “We don’t make enough of the good neurochemicals in the brain,” she said at the time. “It’s a disease. It has nothing to do with our character.” Maybe if people understand that serious mental health conditions are actually brain diseases, there won't be so much sigma surrounding them, and maybe we can actually search for better treatments and cures.

Exactly 😁.It's not just walk it off and get over it like I hear from people around me.. Off this site. Or you have so much to be thankful for what is, the problem.
