I'm just getting off of Cymbalta after being on for a little over a year. I never felt like it helped enough with my depression. That doesn't mean it won't help you. I truly believe everyones makeup is different. All I can say is talk openly with your doctor.
Took two weeks to kick in. Lasted about six months with good results. Stopped working.
I’ve been on cymbalta 60mg for about a month. Not sure I’m seeing anything yet. Are you taking klonopin daily? How much are you taking? Are you worried about long term use of klonopin? Xanax or Ativan or klonopin they are great but long term use scares me. What’s your thoughts?
Seems to help me significantly with daytime anxiety. (Trazadone at night helps massively.) It occasionally causes diarrhea and mild indigestion, especially if taken without food.
Good advice Luna. I will give it more time. Thanks. As far as Benzos I take .50 of klonopin every night for a disorder called rem sleep disorder. What it means is I act out my dreams. I’ve already injured myself during sleep. So it scares me to take another.50 for anxiety. That would be 1 mg a day. I guess I google too much. Thank you.
About 5 years ago I was on klonopin and it was the only med that actually helped my anxiety, then my med prescriber wanted me to get off of it. There was a study that came out at that time about long=term use causing dementia so I quit taking it. I did some research and found the study and it turned out that the people in the study that developed were also alcoholics meaning the study was flawed especially since I am not an alcoholic. I fired my med guy and got a new one. Med prescribers don't like prescribing benzos because they can be addicting but I didn't have any issues quitting, I just did a slow taper and was fine. Also, here in the states getting benzos prescribed can be an issue, I believe they are considered a controlled substance. But if I thought they were necessary for improving the quality of my life I would still be on them.
That sounded scary. Good for your dog. When you say low dosage, low dosage of what? If you don’t mind me asking.
I’ve been on all types of antidepressants. Cymbalta was my idea. Klonopin at .50 makes me feel normal but I find myself fighting taking it. I’m afraid it’ll stop working then what? Even on this forum most answers warn against Benzos. I needed to meet friends today for lunch, I needed the klonopin. Go figure.
I hear you. So It’s quality of life. Whatever that takes. Thanks for taking the time to give me your thoughts. They make a lot of sense. We are a lot alike.
You are so welcome.
I vote for that little girl earning Dog of the Year for bravery! That growl may have saved you from something worse than seeing a flashlight. I hope the she got lotsa hugs and treats after.
Since you're a reader, have you ever read Enslaved by Ducks? I loved it.
I hate hearing you are far beyond anxious. I'm so sorry.
I hate to disagree with you, but in my experience benzos do stop working if you take them every day. Years ago I didn't know any better. A doctor prescribed I use one every day to help me sleep. Then he kept bumping the dose up as it stopped working. When it didn't work anymore at the highest dose, I was... well, it wasn't good news. It took me months to get off the damn stuff that wasn't doing anything good for me anymore.
Oh my what a sweet little face!
If you do read Ducks, give me a review. Or share what you're reading?
I miss Reading Rabbits. I'm having such a hard time with reading now, and any connection helps.❤️🦜
