Propanol for anxiety

Hi I have recently been prescribed propanol for panic attacks and anxiety. I was told to take it twice daily to start with then when anxiety and panic attacks are less take as and when. My question is is anyone else on this medication and does it work? I only been on it 4 days but doing nothing for anxiety or panic attacks. But side effects are having huge impact on my life right now.

I’m on propranolol for exactly the same reason. You need to give it time to get into your system. Getting anxious about whether it’s working or not isn’t going to help the situation. Crazy thing to say as we both know you can’t tell someone with anxiety, not to get anxious. Please give it a chance. I’m on 2 tablets 3 times a day. All I can say is that I certainly know if I’ve not taken it. Good luck.

We all react differently to meds and it does take time for most meds to start working but I was on it for anxiety and it didn't help at all. I also tried the extended release version for blood pressure and it didn't help it either. The only med that had any affect on my anxiety is Klonopin which is a benzo and they don't like prescribing it longterm so I got off of it.
