I'm in my Welsh cottage for a few days and drove up into the mountains for a walk this morning.
I could not believe how beautiful the colours were. Although the clouds hung low over the peaks the orange and copper colours of the bracken, the greens of the grass and foliage and the ivory and greys of the rocks almost exactly matched the colours of the patches of lichen on the rocks.
The ancient stone bridge spanned the crystal clear tumbling waters of the river which ran out of Llyn Ogwen where wavelets rippled the steel grey surface.
I was glad to return to my car for a picnic and hot cuppa after my bracing 3 mile walk along the valley.

Thank U so much for the magnificent photos. There was a 1941 American movie called How Green was my Valley with Maureen O’Hara that depicted the lush greenery of Wales. Wishing U a good weekend.
Thanks so much for your reply. You have some beautiful scenery down in SW Wales too. The Gower peninsula and Pembrokeshire have some of the best coastal scenery in the world in my view.
Shame if you can't walk in it anymore but hopefully you have memories of visits there.
Unfortunately for me, I moved into a bungalow just in time for the start of the lockdowns! I could still walk pretty well back then!
Been to the Gower camping, but the people on the campsite were rude and the Clubhouse at night was full of the Sons of Glendower! Singing 'Land of my Fathers'. etc!' (I Kid you not!) It was back in the 70's!
I used to work during the school holidays on a farm in Powis, and I love Snowdonia! Did a Mountain Activities Course at Plas y Brenin near Capel Curig, in the snow in '63!
Hi MidoriI can imagine that holiday was fairly noisy. Strange to say but I went to college in London to train as a teacher in the 70s and there were many students who came from the Valleys and often sang Land of my father's after getting tanked up at the student bar. Infact I used to join in as many of my friends there were Welsh😀🥳🥴
The mountain activities course in the snow sounds fun.
