I can see the benefits in most of those, but not going without sunglasses on a very bright day. The retina of your eyes is very sensitive, and I have had to have cataract surgery after spending too long in the sun without sunglasses.

Cheers, Midori

Agreed and you don’t need sunlight to hit your eyes to get vitamin d. I think you only need 10-20 min a day

This is useful advice.. but, how can I eliminate sugar completely 😟

Its hard because its in alot of things, but just making the conscience decision to eliminate as much as possible is a start. Then allow yourself a special treat once in awhile.

It's next to impossible to remove sugars completely from a diet, They are the fuel you need to operate, so, unless you are diabetic, just cut back.

It says cut out sugars, then days eat bright colourful fruit and Pineapple! Both contain sugar.

I think that meme would be hazardous to your health TBH

I I think it’s misleading. Eliminate extra sugars even if they are say…honey. I do add maple syrup or honey but it is much less that what you would ever get in processed food. My understanding is refined, honey, syrup are equivalent as far as nutrition goes. Fruit is okay because it is filled with fiber and it doesn’t metabolize as quickly. Just try eating apples as fast as candy. But any fruits that have been made into liquid form even if you ran it through a blender is not good. Reason is that it hits your bloodstream too quickly. It is no better than refined sugar at that point. So sad to say… smoothies are not Heath food.

Berries & pineapple have lower sugar content then other's and are like 95% water. Good fruit choice👍

As long as they aren’t in a smoothie! Strawberry with cottage cheese and pecans. You get your sweet tooth, crunch and filling protein.

We do chew them up correct??🤪

That slows down digestion which slows absorption .

So does this make the sugar content less??

No it makes it less potent. IDK all the chemistry in your body but picture a spigot. If you turn up the water you fill the cup a lot faster than if you turn it to a trickle. it is also a lot stronger. Your body only has so many resources to process sugar so that speed has an affect. Other point is you usually do put more fruit in a smoothie than you eat in your hand.

Find it hard to resist candy during holidays (halloween, christmas, easter) and then tend to relapse into bad habits for a while. Any advise? 😊

Rest of advises easier to follow.

Anyone tried cold showers?

I tend to stay away from anything uncomfortable, but there has been discussions on here about the benefits some have experienced. Decades ago I had read about certain Nordic populations swimming in winter. 🥶

I can speak from my experience when I chose to switch to a plant based diet eliminating any and all processed foods. I was such a sweets person and it was so tough at first..... but then your body starts changing and you dont have those cravings so much. I still have treats, but that's just what it is "a treat" occasionally. A square of some really yummy dark chocolate i love, also fruit smoothie's using a touch of organic maple syrup for sweetness 😋⭐

Having dark chocolate works for me. I only eat a square and a bar last over a week. 75%+ is pretty satisfying in small doses.

So inpired! Think the only way for me is a 100% switch. And for christmas prepare mentally that candy is apple and nuts etc. 😊

Find sweets that are a mix of healthy and not. One of my favorite treats is apple with nut Butter and chocolate chips. Apple makes it filling. Nut butter has protein. You are eating fewer chips than candy. Bonus points for dark chocolate.

I could do everything but I would rarely eat pineapple as it makes my tongue feel like sandpaper so darn uncomfortable
