My head goes completely numb and it makes my shoulders tense and I get weird sensations even when I am not feeling anxiety. No one in my household believes how intense it is and the hospital keeps saying it's anxiety, although they never checked my head or giving me a head scan after having so many issues after I had contracted covid August 24th. It's not really a question that I'm sure anybody can really answer but how do I get people to believe me? Once you have been deemed an anxious or depressed person everybody sweeps it under the rug. I am beyond frustrated

HEAD NUMBNESS ANXIETY?
Hi Diana72, I believe what you are saying regarding the numb feeling in your head.I once felt like that myself. I felt every doctor wasn't really listening to my concerns.
Anxiety was always brought up, were they right??
After having an MRI and seeing specialists of all sorts, I had to believe that my issue
with stress and anxiety were causing the tense shoulders and neck that made my head
feel weird. Upon seeing a Rheumatologist, I was given Physical therapy to release the
trigger points in my shoulders, neck and lower scalp. It helped immensely, not only the
treatment but finally believing in what anxiety can do to our body.
Now I will say that Covid wasn't around then. Could be an after effect from having had it?
I don't know if anyone knows the answer. But I do believe that "sweeping the issue under
the rug" does more harm than good. Frustrating is not even a strong enough word.
I hear you and hope you get some relief in what you are feeling.
A therapist? Medication? A different Specialist? The choices are in your hands.
I wish you well. I so understand xx
I live in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and healthcare here is absolutely horrible. No access to a therapist because there isn't enough waiting lists for the few that are here are years. I was prescribed antidepressants the first day I took one I felt absolutely awful and it just scared me to try again because I have sleep apnea if it gives me insomnia it's going to be hell for me. I am just praying that it will get better.
I'm so sorry you are struggling Diana.. I'd be cautious as well taking medication if youhave sleep apnea which causes you insomnia. Sleep is so important with stress and anxiety.
In your not being able to get help with a therapist, I would suggest what I do. That is
go to "YouTube" Anything and everything you can want to know about is on that site.
I have learned much with the videos that are spoken by psychiatrists and other professionals.
To this day, I still touch upon videos to help me through stressful times.
There are short Meditation and Breathing videos 5-10 min long that can really
help if you do it daily. Sleep meditations that can last the night are also available.
If there is anything we can help you with, let the forum know. We learn through the
experiences of what others go through. It will get better Diana, believe in that xx
Try potentials unlimited online get the relaxation download, and see how you feel after using it for 30 days, if you still get the same feeling, see your Dr !
Around your head is what they call the circle of willis, this can feel tight and numb, its related to stress and anxiety. I had this very bad when I was going through a bad time relaxation can help !
Mine pops up alot and it's the top of my head. It makes me feel crazy. It happens when I am not even stressed out. I am literally just a couple of months of having anxiety this bad ....I am trying alot of different stuff but it doesn't help when the people around you treat you are visably frustrated. Hopefully I will get through this soon....not sure how much more I can take
Hi Diana, sorry to hear about what your going through. look up this article, The hidden long term cognitive effects of covid 19 by Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School health.harvard.edu It tells what they know of covid effects on the brain and nervous system. Im not a doctor but i have noticed that people who have had covid have some of the same symptoms as persons like my self who have had a brain injury, you may want to take a good omega3 liquid to heal your brain this is what i did and it helped all my symptoms including anxiety and depression . I think the information in this paper will help you understand what is happening to you. You might have to yell at some Drs. to get a cat or mri but better safe than sorry. Hope this info , helps you.
I just had a CT yesterday and he said it was normal. He is referring me to a specialist, however I live in Canada where our so called free healthcare takes forever to get a referral. My city is the worst and it's frustrating. I got my CT from the hospital which I have to always go to because my family doctor is never available. Thanks for the info 🙂
