After two or three weeks I felt the same, yes as you describe like being on a high, but the next day I was back to feeling very depressed, I then went back to several months of not having this high feeling, it took almost six months before I felt good and happy and taking a interest in things, but I am pleased to say I am feeling 100% now and have been for almost 18 months, really enjoying life and always look forward to going out if only for a ride with my Husband in the car.I am on 40mg of fluoxetine, and intend staying on them, maybe just decreasing the dose, but I want to remain on them, it’s a lovely feeling when you get back to feeling yourself.

Keep fighting you will get there.

Hi Mummy31 ,I have been on Fluoxetine for a while now this is my second time , Please don't think they won't help they will ,I was on the brink of giving up my first time and my doctor asked me to give them a little longer ,I felt like you and thought things would never calm down but after a few weeks I started to feel better and although I was on them a while I eventually came off them and was fine for a long time, My second time came after a family crisis and luckily I knew about the side effects and that they would take a while to settle in my system ,I had no sleep or terrible dreams ,anxiety a feeling of being useless but after about 3-4 weeks the anxiety settled, the headaches went and I could function like myself once again , they say if you can get through the first weeks things will work out believe me they will , don't bottle things up ,talk to your family ,your doctor anyone that will listen it helps even if it's about the side effects of Fluoxetine or how they are making you feel ,It is hard the first few weeks I won't lie and I won't tell you that you will feel brilliant straight away you won't ,but stick it out and you will get there ,I am always here to help if you just want to ask anything or to say how you feeling week by week ,it's up to you

Yes I felt at times worse than when I went to see my doctor but I persevered and after a few weeks everything claimed down and by about week 6 I was beginning to feel like the normal me ,I know it's easy to say but try and carry on with the tablets they will help and you will get right ,Keep talking ,tell people how your feeling because bottling things in is the worst thing you can do , There's always someone on here will try to answer any questions or queries you may have ,We have to help each other xx

I was on day 8 and then gave up because I was so anxious and felt out of body 10mg/20mg. Anyone else feel like that?! It was scary. But 4 days after I’ve started again 10mg as today has been horrific with anxiety! Can anyone give me hope - I’m dizzy, super super anxious, spaced out, numb, shaky, dithery...is it going to get better or shall I change? Feel crazy x
