I’ve been battling anxiety attacks since May which I am attributing to stress from graduate school and just being home because of the pandemic. I tried Zoloft for a week and could not get passed the suicidal thoughts. I tried managing naturally and had a terrible panic attack last week and was sick with a summer cold on top of that which I feel made it even worse. Ended up in the ER because I thought it was a heart attack. I’ve never had depression but always slight anxiety that was manageable. My doctor is frustrated because she feels like I keep reaching out for help but won’t take the help she gives. The Zoloft left me so scared. I’m not on Wellbutrin day two and I feel totally out of it and like my panic is worse. I know I need to give it time but how does anyone have the patience to live like this?

Wellbutrin?!
I will say a prayer for you. Know that you are not alone and you are a beloved child of God. Peace to you!
Bupropion isn't normally used for anxiety as far as I know. So that seems like a strange medication choice... what did they tell you for why they are using it?
I’m not sure if Wellbutrin and buspar can be used together but I would ask your doctor. Buspar is an anti-anxiety med that isn’t a benzodiazepine so you can’t get addicted. It has a nice sedating effect but it’s not too heavy if that makes sense.
Wellbutrin can help with depression. I took it for a few years but then it stopped working and I personally felt it increased my anxiety.
Hi! I can relate. I have always struggled to take meds. I take Wellbutrin for anxiety and depression. I tried Wellbutrin several diff times before we found a dose I could tolerate and build up to a max dose. I also took it at night to sleep through a lot of the side effects. After about a month I switched to a day time dose. I’ve been on Wellbutrin for a long time now. I love it. It did make my anxiety worse at first, and trust me I have bad anxiety, but it leveled out after being on it. I started out on the lowest dose possible and to titrated up slowly. I hope this helps, you’re not alone.
Hi yeah i found welbutrin too stimulating also and you don't want that with anxiety! Give L theanine a try and omega3 along with cbd it keeps my anxiety and depression in check. Hang in there and have a good day.
