I see my behavior as a 'Do you see me' disease. We hide our feelings because we are afraid to expose ourselves to others. Do you see the hurt/loneliness that I feel. We also hide our pain behind a veneer of happiness. In the end we try to seek treatment and counseling. Generally we are given meds and therapy. We are putting our care in the hands of strangers. No one is really watching out for us if friends/family arent involved. So we have to rely on ourselves. If we are insecure in ourselves or don't have understanding from family, we feel abandoned. That is my story.

Do you see me?
I understand where you are coming from. We have to self advocate because we have a mental disorder and no one understands our unique symptoms and reactions but us. Yet who we explain it to such as doctors or therapists they have their own take in what we are saying and how do we know we will be interpreted correctly. It is such a hit or miss in the mental health system as a lot of it is put off or put down to anxiety, depression, PTSD, bi-polar and so on. What if some of it is just us, our personalities. We rely on professionals to give us a correct diagnosis and for that not to follow us into the medical field and put our medical complaints down to our mental diagnosis. Mental health needs to step out of the dark ages, medical changes all the time in diagnostics and medicine yet we are still being tested and medicated like this is 1980's still. It's sad that we get left behind because we are in an essence invisible to the whole system when we get a mental diagnosis. Hang in there we are in this together. Gentle hugs 🫂🫂
I agree with everything you say here. I think HU has helped me to become better at self advocating.
I think many mental health professionals don't see us as intelligent people at all.
But on here you don't have to hide your feelings because we all feel the same way.
We have to force ourselves to stay busy. Force yourself to go for walks , maybe you can do excercise of some type. To produce endorphins that battle your anxiety and depression. At least you have some control then. Tough times dont last, but tough people do . And we are all tough here .
I see you. In fact I know you. You are me
