Some Nights are Forever

There was a song in the seventies, titled. “Nights are Forever Without You”. It’s a good song. Give it a listen. It came to mind because last night was forever for me. Some restless sleep. Then awakening. Back to sleep for awhile. Then up again. Over and over. Kept waiting for the sun but the clock was barely moving. I’ve mentioned my chronic insomnia in this space before. But most nights are thankfully better than this. Instead of freaking out about how horrible last night was, and how exhausted I will be today, I’m going to try to just chalk it up as “one of those nights”. I will refrain from complaining to friends and family as I usually do and see if that makes me feel any better. And I will try not to beat myself up for “failing” at sleep once again. Another song comes to mind: “Last Night I Couldn’t Get To Sleep” by the Fifth Dimension. Any sleep songs you can think of? Maybe insomnia set to music is better than dwelling on the misery of it? It’s worth a try.

Not songs per say but I have chronic insomnia as well and sleep anxiety and have written many poems about it. Then when I finally can sleep well anxiety wakes me up. It stinks hugs insomniac
