Hello, I’ve been feeling like I can’t take a full deep breath and it’s making me panic even more. I’m scared that something wrong with my heart because sometimes it feels like it skips a beat. I’m trying not to let myself go into pull panic but I’m looking for some suggestions to help me. Feeling a shortness of breath all day.

I’ve felt like that when I’ve experienced panic attacks. Your mind races thinking it’s your heart, your lungs, and you can’t pinpoint it.

I like to play music and close my eyes and just do breathing exercises.

Running cold water helps me; someone here told me that and it works. Even a nice cup of warm tea.

Did anything change? Your meds or situation? If it persists, maybe you should go to an ER.

Hi T123, I would ask the same question and that is has anything happened recently

before experiencing not being able to take a full breath??

Your heart may skip a beat when you become dehydrated. Are you drinking enough

water each day? Feeling panic is making the chest wall muscles tight which can have

nothing to do with your heart or lungs. The more we focus on a sensation, the more it

takes hold.

I am not a doctor and would suggest you calling your GP if it continues. This is a common

symptom when we become over anxious. Check your breathing and make sure you are

not hyperventilating or holding your breath in anticipation of your fears. Relax your shoulders and try to bring your breathing back to a normal pace. Eventually the chest muscles will relax and open up allowing you to take that full deep breath. Ahhhh....feels

Not being able to take a deep breath is a common anxiety symptom and so our heart palpitations. Many here have been there and felt those strange sensations including myself. Are there any other weird sensations your experiencing? Any tingling or dizziness maybe having trouble sleeping? I know some great books that help cure me of my anxiety let me know.
