Does anyone else suffering from anxiety and depression have chest tightness/heaviness that extends to your back and neck? My shoulders and arm feel funny too. There’s a tension when I look down or put my head back. The more I push my chin into my chest the more discomfort I feel in my chest area. I’m scared it’s heart related BUTTT my brother who is a first responder said if I was having a heart attack or heart problems I’d feel PAIN in my sides/under the breast bone, trouble breathing and what not. I know it may seem silly but I get anxious about it. Even when I’m told i shouldn’t worry so much about it. I don’t have a lot of people in my life that have the same issues as I do so not a lot of people understand.
When I had panic attacks and felt like I was losing my mind all of you helped me so much; especially the person who told me to run cold water on my wrists and hands.
Hope you all are well and staying safe ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely. I've learned that the symptoms you're described are our bodies trying to tell to slow down and pay attention, and chill.
I’m sorry you’re feeling that way! I’ve found breathing exercises and the cold water on the wrist and hands have helped me. Going for a walk too! FBS ❤️
I have chest and back pain all the time. If I look at the pain it's generally in my mid back and radiating to my chest. It comes from constantly arching my shoulders. I have to consciously loosen my shoulders so many times a day I no longer keep track. I bought a 'Thera-Cane' that helps quite a bit. It also affirms the pain is in my mid-back muscles and not my heart. I actually have two: one I keep at work and one at home. Massages and Acupuncture helped also, but with COVID those haven't been an option for over a year now. A warm bath with Epsom salts does wonders.
The way we hold ourselves when anticipating threats has a lot to do with the muscle groups that ache and generate pain. Get and read Dr. Claire Weekes book 'Hope and Help for your Nerves.' I also bought her audio recordings; however, they simply reiterate the points in her book. One thing I did gain from her audio recordings was the phrase ' Loosen and Allow.'
I would still check in with your doctor. If nothing else, he/she will affirm it's nerves.
