Increased Mirtazapine from 30 mg to 45.

I was initially prescribed Mirtazapine for insomnia and anxiety. At 30 mg I would go to sleep and seemed to help anxiety, but at 45 mg it seems to wake me up and I have been having anxiety around noon each day and then it fades in the evening. Does anyone take Mirtazapine at noon? That is when I feel like I need it?

Talk to the pharmacist (chemist) about when you should take it. They'll know best. Mirtazapine has a side effect of making you sleepy right after you take it, so usually you're told to take it right before bed. It's supposed to help with insomnia that way.

not recommended to take it during the day just before bed is when I take mine have done for years.

hi on 45 mg but taking quarter now supposed to be having a review as I`ve never had one.

Hi, I’m on 45mg of mirtazapine I take it at night time, I found whens dose was increased my anxiety seemed to be getting worse! It did settle down though but I’ve never known it to be taken during the day? It would make me sleep all day if I took it then. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi I have just started taking Mertazipine but I found it had a very stimulating affect and kept me awake all night so Doctor said try taking small dose a.m and test of dose evening if this doesn’t work I will have to go back down again to 30ml can’t be doing without my sleep have read lots of other people have had sleep problems on this doseX
