Finding the right therapist for you can be difficult. Just because the one you are currently seeing is not reaching you does not mean they are not capable. But it could be a sign to look for someone else. Your therapist will likely understand this so maybe you could bring up your current struggles with them? They might be able to change their current method of outreach to you or alternatively recommend you to someone else. Communication is key. If you are struggling, make this clear to your therapist. It is their job to help you and they can only do their best with the information you give them. The more open and willing to change you are, the more likely you will improve. I wish you luck.
Hi! Do you mind if I ask, how long have you been doing the healthy foods and exercise for? I’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulty with your doctor that’s incredibly frustrating.
Nice determination! It can take awhile, I asked my doctor about it because I was expecting results overnight of course. She told me 6-12 months for best outcome. I know that may be dissapointing to hear but I felt maybe you would benefit from a timeframe of sorts. As to your therapist...I have always felt that an inneffective therapeutic relationship can be very damaging to the patient and increase their symptoms. You would be within your rghts to find someone you can have a constructive (professional) relationship with. Everyone deserves that. 😇😇
PS: I am an addiction counselor so I have seen first hand how many people are working in the mental health field but thy do not care about their patients.
While diet is certainly important, it is not the be-all-end-all. If you are still struggling, something more might be necessary. Have you considered taking medication?
