I recently started taking lexipro and it’s making me extremely tired and on the third night I woke up with a major panic attack. Wanted to know if this was normal or if should stop taking it? Any advice is super helpful thank you!!

with any medication, we need to give it at least 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy.

Depending if you are on any other medication or the dosage is upper during that time

it could take a few days longer.

Fatigue can definitely be a side effect of Lexapro. After looking at the side effects, it doesn't look like panic attacks fit.My guess is that the Lexapro hasn't fully kicked in yet.

But definitely check with your doctor as soon as you can.

Go easy on yourself about your anxiety. I find that I have to be very careful not to get myself too upset when my anxiety kicks in.

Breathing is really important. Look up diaphragmatic breathing. It takes practice, but it can be very helpful.

Try and find something that relaxes you. A warm shower, a favorite comedy...

Take it day by day. Try not to think too far ahead.

Lexapro makes me sleepy, too. The panic attack probably broke through the Lexapro. Keep taking it and keep talking to your doctor about your experiences. ❤️
