Side effects I am having and struggling with are , feeling sick but very hungry ....but worst all vision blurry , extremely dizzy , faintish ( sugary drink helps this ), lightheaded , drowsey ... Particularly in morning to lunchtime . I keep reading and being told to stick with it they get better and ease off after a couple of weeks ? Would love to hear some feedback and any others experiences similar with this .

Thanks

Andrew

Mirtazapine is notorious for weight gain (which is why my doc took me off it). Unless it's the only med you've tried that works I'd talk with your doc . I wish I could have tolerated it because it was an excellent drug for me. Weight is super easy to put on and super hard to take off so I truly wish you luck.

Hi..everyone has a different experience with taking mirtazapine. I have been taking 10 mg at night since September and due to feeling better ( Escitalopram) have been adivsed to take 5 mg a day for a week and stop taking. I had lost 30 lbs since last spring and have put 20 back on since starting mirtazapine. And yes drowsiness is an issue during the day I find. But I am feeling much better, like my old self! I do everything the doctir asked me to do and had therapy for over 6 months. Expensive but worth it. A Meditation course on stress reduction is helping as well. Have a positive additude. try to have something good in your life to look forward to every day, surround yourself with positive friends and family, be grateful for the good things in your life . It is a journey.

I decided to come off mirtazapine and go back on escitalopram. Mirtazapine is good for sleep but left me feeling sluggish and didn't alleviate my anxiety/depression as much as it initially seemed it would.

Hi thereI too am on mirtazapine although 45mg spread out across the day, the side effects vary , for me they are getting better now going into the 3rd week , I’ve been on and off mirtazapine for a few years now and there’s been times when I’ve felt great. I don’t get the hunger except for after I’ve taken it at night . If the side effects are bothering you please talk to your doctor . Wishing you a speedy recovery . 🙏
