I've only recently learned that instead of Major Depressive Disorder (a diagnosis I've had my entire adult life)....it's looking very much like it's BiPolar2. WOW. As if 2020 wasn't a big enough sh*t-show!
How are y'all doing?
Any Bi-P people (particularly BP2), I'd love to hear what you do, what you take, etc. to manage this. Apparently I experience mixed states.

We all do. It is about degree...that is pretty much it. Unfortunately I have heard too many stories where the doctor tells the patient how they are instead of listening to what is going on.
Yep..diagnost bi-polar, years ago. Tried lots of meds that didn't work...last was Latuda..it gave me horrid muscle spasms in my legs, after a few months of taking it!! Not taking anything until I get my DNA results back...that should help me find something compatible? Maybee! Sounds kinda interesting talking with people that are going through same sorts of life challenges! 😊
Hi Lavender
I'm glad u have found people who can help u. I do not have it but there are also tons if u check other communities in here. There is a bipolar community and I am sure u will get more friends as well. We don't want to lose u here in this community but since we are here for support, u will get more support from other group who also understands it and u can also be in multiple groups
Hell yes and proud if it! More specifically, proud of the ten years I worked to make it tolerable
Hi, I have bipolar disorder 2. I was also diagnosed with depression and given a bunch of antidepressants, which all kept me hypomanic for a couple of years. After starting college again at 35 and getting married, I took an atypical antipsychotic, Ziprasidone, and within a week realized I needed a job and found one. Began saving for retirement for the first time in 9 years. So the right medicine can help you get your life in order. It took a long while, and lamotrigine, for me to be able to tolerate the ziprasidone without too many side effects, but it’s been worth it. Part of the reason I’m on this drug is that I don’t have great kidney function, and these get processed by the liver. I’m going to follow you, so check in periodically and let us know how you are doing.
hi, yes you can say I am the one living this but now things are away better than before. Bipolar disorder was often referred to as "depression." i was always used to having a reduced need for sleep.
feeling overjoyed or “high” for a long time.
feel like you're jumping or "you have ropes"
speaking very quickly,
usually with fast thoughts and rapid changes of subject.
feeling extremely insecure or irritable & Agitated
easily disturbed and get panic
So, i took a combination method ( medication+psychotherapy) along with lifestyle changes to make my life in a better place. And luckily these tips worked well for me.
It makes sense to me! I have all those same symptoms. You just made me feel less alone.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar after almost dying in ICU because I had gone off all my meds and ended up manic and had a mixed episode which lead me to an overdose. You are not alone. I take Zyprexa, if I didn't I wouldn't be here. Sleep is very important. I also stay away from caffeine, drink a lot of water, keep track of my mood on an app called Daylio, and I try to exercise. I hope some of this helps! The app is free! Sending you a huge hug.

Bipolar will make you want to kill yourself. Just know those thoughts are lies. You are loved.
