It is serious if you catch it, but fairly easy to avoid. As long as you wear a mask, touch as little public property as possible (check out Untouch!), and don’t touch your face until your hands have been washed, you should be fine. The reason Covid is such a big problem still is because people could take easy steps to prevent it (such as those mentioned above) but they just don’t bother.
I just had covid last month. It felt like the flu where every joint hurt, could not keep food down and my sleep was off from it. Once I was out of lockdown for the 2 weeks I ended up with pneumonia. The shortness of breath was a major problem for me at the end.
hi SC; and welcome to HU...
.
covid very serious - but as other poster said - it's easy to avoid - wear masks - wash hands - social distance.
.
dont know if you're a numbers person - but here are some rough statistics for covid....
for people otherwise healthy; (for people with underlying conditions stats are worse):
<30 mortality rate ~~ 1%
30-50 rate ~~ 3%
50-60 rate ~~ 4-5%
60-70 rate ~~ 10%
70+ rate ~~ 15-18%
those stat's are a bit rough - and probably 2-4 months old; so todays stats now may be different.
*** for ALL people that recover from covid (which is the majority) - there's a 33% chance there will be long and possibly life long after-effects. these after effects vary considerably - and may or may not be noticeable. they include loss of taste and/or smell; numerous conditions and/or increased risk of future events relating to: lungs, heart, kidneys, joints, and others.
.
so you def. do NOT want to mess around w/ covid...
HTH
Well I am not a doctor or in the medical field. I can only share what I have lived. I personally know a lot of people who have had COVID and yes I have lost some family and friends and acquaintances to the virus but I have also had friends and family who either felt light symptoms like loss of taste and smell to nothing at all. Most of them have had no little to no symptoms and some had flu like symptoms that are not fun.
I feel it is good to take good care of your self yet maybe it is good to see that the highest percentage of people are okay.
I had Covid last month. I didn’t know I was sick. I just thought my allergies were bothering me again. I never ran a fever or felt sick.
My kids never complained once when they had it. They were completely fine.
My husband ran a low fever but he was less sick with Covid than when he had the flu.
I had the same symptoms. The doctors ran two separate tests over two weeks. Both came out negative. The first one was the rapid test, the second was the more invasive up-the-nostril and twist test. I was hoping it was COVID just so I could get past it and move on.
nope all obsessive things and lots off patterns🙃
