I took the medication Zoloft for about a year or so for depression and anxiety. Before I started taking it, I thought that it would "make me feel better" all around and help to boost my mood. It was a medication that my Mom had taken several years ago and it made a big difference for her (in a positive way). As for me, honestly, I did not have the same results. For me, it did not help my mood change at all and I thought it would help me with the depression and the anxiety. I know there are people out there who are taking Zoloft and it is helping them and that is great. For me, it did not benefit me. I went back to taking Prozac again; and, I have taken Prozac at 3 different dosages (20mg, 30mg, and 40mg). And, personally, between the 20mg and the 30mg has worked pretty well for me. Each of us is different; so, it is all in what you and your doctor feel is the right medication for you. And, also, you need to be your own advocate when it comes to the medication that you put into your body. Nobody knows you better than yourself and YOU need to take of YOU first and foremost. If you don't feel it is the right medicine; then, share that with your doctor, until you find the right medicine that works for you. You have to take care of you, that is the most important thing in life.
