good afternoon! (+poem)

hi guys! how have all of your days been so far? any big plans? I just woke up about an hour ago and the start of my day was a little rocky. I woke up with a migraine then started going downstairs just to hear my mom yelling at my brother. I was like nope, not gonna deal with that right now and I went right back into my room, lol. Just made some coffee so hopefully, it gets better. Let me know what you're doing today! I ran out of poems so I wrote another one last night. It's about how online relationships differ from in-person ones (it is not directed towards anyone in HU, my inspiration came from another site I used to be on).

the space between us

distance

the only wall

for we are closer

than our thoughts

can imagine but

do not believe

what i tell you,

for every

venomous

word

is a lie.

you know

nothing

except what i

want you to beieve.

did you actually

think

you knew the real me?

i don't even know myself anymore.

i can't trust you,

nor you trust me

all we are to each other

an icon on a desktop

it's what we wish could happen

meeting and falling in love

like we've known each other

forever

grew up together

bonded since birth

but it just doesn't happen

no matter our desires

one of us leaves

killing the other softly

letters on a screen

the only remnants of

who we used to be.

the space between us, distance,

we are closer than we can imagine...

but farther than we know.

distance may separate us, but distance a wall is not.

i know not, the the you that's real - tho how hard try, i might;

you know not the real of me - for we ourselves know not.

we are not icons on a desktop...

we are but AI lying to all, and lying beneath...

the desktop we shall never see...

for you can not see from whence beyond, that to which you do belong.

we can never know each other, not even bonded first by birth.

each is to their self, their own, each experience unique,

even if upon the same path, we may tread,

we travel in our own AI, we travel in our own skin.

tho we wish, and tho we might, to be as one we try,

any joining, is but fleeting; and yet we try, we try.

one will always leave before... but the other soon to follow.

the only evidence that once we were...

the spawn of our desire, and so the spawn of that...

the imprint that we left, as bits and bytes aglow...

shall fade away at last, wherever do they go.
