[langedechu]

how is everyone this morning? i unfortunately had a bit of a rough night but ended up sleeping a bit. obv I'm regretting it now but I'm always tired in the mornings so it doesn't make much of a difference anyways, lol. let me know how you're doing! this morning's poem is one that I wrote two days ago so it's more recent. to me, I wrote it to symbolize how someone online can be very different from their actual self, but it can mean lots of things depending how the reader interprets it. anyways here it is

the element of mystery

how it angers us

to not know,

for we are eager and

desperate

by curiosity

i'm not real

nor am i

meant to be

here

or anywhere

truthfully

once my façade is

withdrawn,

you won't like what you see.

pulverized

like a corrupted star

drifting

through the universe

i cannot be

forgiven

for the things i have done,

the crimes i have committed,

so it seems that

my only place now is

high above the earth

to join the constellations

as it all fades to black

before my very eyes.

a rose by any other name...

a screen with any other name...

alias by day... mystery by night...

but hark, what light thru yonder windows...

it is the east, and juliet is the desktop.

the user has a name, but the name matters naught.

anonymous surrounds us, or at least so us thought.

warms and protects us, can you feel it not?

or mis-spoke i? did i miss -

maybe it's really, just animus!

but too,

it does separate,

and segregate.

protects us from fakers,

protects us from haters,

but too does it shield us, in ways so un-related.

un-human, un-real - is that what we feel?

friends that seem real, yet clung by a thread;

all but a name, is it just in our head?

here, we are all; and yet we are not.

wizards, we all; but oz this is not!

a facade it may be,

but hearts of truth, minds of care...

fakeness is not, in the cold cyberair.

10,000 beers, and 10,000 years...

birthdays of past, and lost in time;

dust we were,

and dust we are,

dust we will be,

it all matters not -

what matters is now ... now, all that can be.

for we need to live now - screw anonymity.

good friends you should keep,

some day can they meet?

alias be damned, before petals wither...

the flower be named, mystery remains...

for a rose will truly never know,

how to be a flower some other.

10,000 have past, and darkness engulfs;

did you share?

did you care?

have you love?

have you lost?

for not if didst thou... then damned shall you be...

the bloom is all but too short - smell now, feel reality..

for hark, we are all the warm light;

take hold of it now; before fade to night.
