Today is the anniversary of my ex and I getting engaged. He recently ended our relationship Wednesday after 8+ years of being together. I just need some comfort and uplifting words.

Trigger days are tough. I've been there. Ending a relationship is a kind of mourning, it's okay to let yourself be sad. But make sure you do something to care for yourself today too - watch a funny movie, call an old friend, have a nice dinner, or whatever makes you smile. You are a good person worth caring for, no matter what the ex made you feel.
Sorry you are feeling low. Your post is a good sign you are grieving appropriately.
A wise counselor once told me it takes one year for every four years you were together to grieve the loss of a boyfriend or husband. That statement was accurate for me! As much as I wanted to be "through" with grieving, it took me six years to feel and believe I was ready to enter a new relationship after my 24 year marriage ended.
Be easy on yourself and know that in time, with effort, good guidance, and faith, there is love out there!! Blessings to you!!
