Hi everyone,

30 year old healthy male, married with 1 kid.

Few months back I had my first panic attack, since that day I constantly feel like am going to die soon.

Got checked my doctor cardiologist/physicians thrice but all seems well.

My relationship with everything has changed, now I don’t care about money or work.

Few things which is happening with me everyday - constantly feel like something is happening on left side of chest, some tightness which makes me breathless n start producing gas in stomach.

- whenever I sit in car I feel heaviness on left side as I had my first panic attack while travelling in bus and may be am not able to take this out of head.

- I can hear my heart beats in silence which makes me feel like a heart attack, I still watch by heart beats at any point of time, I know that am alright but still it is taking me back to zero.

Few things which I tried & it’s helpful -

- meditation & yoga

- exercise - already lost 5kg

- bath during sleep

- tracked my health with health tracking and all seems well.

The harshest reality is I know that am alright & my brain needs some love, care & compassion.

Hi akshataha, you are portraying all the symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Once we have that first panic attack, our brain remembers all too well and

associates where we were and how we felt (every detail) Once that memory

is imprinted in our subconscious mind, it plays that fear over and over.

We tend to focus on our body, every breath, every heartbeat. In order to

get past this fear cycle, we need to do all the things you have listed but most

importantly, we need to trust and believe in our doctors/cardiologist.

You must also remind yourself that it wasn't the place you had your first panic

attack that caused it. It was the way your brain processed something not quite

right in your life that decided to bring that fear about. Maybe even a memory..

Sometimes we need a little medication to break that fear cycle or some therapy

to talk out and address what is bothering us. Either way, I wish you well in going

forward. Don't give up. Have you read the book by Dr. Claire Weekes entitled

"Hope & Help for Your Nerves" (also on YouTube videos) it will better explain

what you are feeling and how to break that fear by Acceptance of Anxiety.

I'm glad you reached out to us. Continue doing that and get the help and support

you need from all of us since we have all experienced the same. :) xx

Thank you Agora that was really special. I will surely read “Hope & Help for your nerves” & share my experience with you and everyone.

I have lost all friends due to my extreme focus on myself & family is the only one which is after me & die-hardly supporting me.

Family doesn’t know what am suffering but somewhere realise that am stressful.

Also one thing, am not able to plan anything now like any future thing such as education, immigration, my child further life...may be due to fear of death... but after joining this community I realise that am not alone and we are special.
