My little brother was recently diagnosed with Health Anxiety (Hypochondria) and it’s been difficult seeing him struggle with this mental health disorder during the past few weeks. This is all new to my family and I and we just want to be the best support system he could have, but we don’t know what to do. He’s still learning his triggers, his coping mechanisms, etc. What do we do? What do we say? We are at a loss and we feel so helpless.

The first thing is to keep him off google and reading symptoms of diseases! That is what usually triggers people. Just be there for him, listen to him, and ask how you can help. He needs to be understood and heard. That will mean the world to him!
So sorry your brother is going through this....It's not always going to be easy for any of you to deal with. My advice is to just let him know that he has full support from his family and on the bad days remind him that he's going to be ok, trying to keep as normal routine and lifestyle as possible is also important, all you can do is be there for him and deal with things as and when they arise xx
Oh that 's so hard! I'm sure he really needs to be heard and feel that he is being accepted. Lots of patience too I am sure-maybe you could walk him through his symptoms and help him feel less anxious? Please post back and let us know how he (and you) are doing.
