I'm probably about to start counseling, will this still help me or is therapy a better option?

I had only counseling for my depression, it helped to a certain extent. Honestly you have to find your own way as to what would help you better. For me, support from parents and self care ( exercise, developing a hobby, yoga etc) helped me a lot.

I would class them as the same thing. I have had counselling on a 1:1 basis and now I in group therapy. The only real difference I have noticed is that group therapy isn't structured so.we could end up talking about anything xxx
