Is any other teenager on sertaline (Zoloft) or any other SSRI anti-depressant? I am really struggling with the side effects of drinking with the medication, it makes it hard to be a normal university student but also trying to care for my mental health. It makes me physically sick the next day even if I’ve only had 2 drinks:/ I know the obvious answer is to not drink but it is generally very hard to immerse yourself in university culture when not drinking especially as I am so used to drinking. i

You’re describing a tough spot to be in and one that I think many people go through. Alcohol definitely can make things more fun and enjoyable. But you are also taking meds for a reason. I think many people drink on meds and I think many people also gave up drinking for meds. If your going to drink alcohol try drinking 1 glass of water for every alcoholic drink. Also, if you carry a cup with any liquid in it, people won’t know it’s not alcohol.
