Citalopram

I have been on Citalopram for just over 8 weeks, 10mg just under 3 weeks and 20mg nearly 6 weeks. I have just increased my dose to 30mg as my mood is still quite low. Side effects at moment increased anxiety and intrusive thoughts. How long does it usual take for the increase to start kicking In.

I would think that every time you change to dose you will need to give it 4 - 6 weeks for your body to benefit from the dosage change. Did you just decided to increase it or did your GP? I only asked because you were at 20mg for nearly 6 weeks so any side effects should have started to subside by then, but then the dosage has increased. Hang in there x

My doctor decided to increase, because of low mood not getting any better. Side effects have all but disappeared

Just increase in Anxiety, but I think that is common when you up your dose
