Hi guys. Ive tried taking a few Antidepressants over the years and none agree with me and make me very sick. Seeing as I’m very low at the minute I’ve decided to give citalopram another shot, starting on a low dose. After taking the first one the side effects hit almost within hours. I’m restless, I have restless legs, I can’t sleep I’m shaking and I wake up with a headache after a couple of hours sleep. I’ve only taken 2 so far and was wondering if anyone had the same side effects and they disappeared?
I’m a single parent trying to work from home and look after my children at the same time so living on a couple of hours sleep won’t work for me.

Sorry I didnt like to see you had no reply. I have only taken citalopram briefly when in hospital, I did take esitalapram with horrible side effects. Why did you retake a med you'd tried before would it not been better to try something different? I take duloxetine currently, I think venoxaine (not sure if the spelling or correct name) is meant to be good. But if you having those effects on a low dose and you havent got the social support to take the 2+ weeks to feel the benefits it might be worth a trip to the gp again, he might prescribe something prn to just get you through the day? Good luck
Thank you for replying. I’ve tried so many of them and they have all made me ill. My GP suggested trying Citalopram again at a lower dose. These actually seem to have the least side effects as the others made me violently sick. I ended up in hospital after trying serteline. Even with my depression I’ve always slept fine so losing sleep is taking its toll. I’ve also had my B12 injections stopped due to the virus so feeling super tired anyway. I’ll persevere for another week and see how I get on. I can’t carry on long term like this. Thanks again.
