What book was your favorite book when... - Anxiety and Depre...
What book was your favorite book when you were younger? What is your favorite book now?
Wuthering Heights has to be the greatest novel of all time
I used to like Martin Amis I like Anita Brookner I have read all her books at least twice
I’ve never read it. What’s it about?
Wuthering Heights? It's a love story set in Yorkshire in the Victoria era
Lord of the Rings x
I love the lord of the rings movies
They are very good but the book is better. x
The Mortal Engines series is my all time favourite...
Is it like transformers? I LOVE bumblebee
No, here is a link to the author and books, they also made a movie recently but i havent seen it yet.
Those look amazing!
I enjoyed them a lot.
So hard to answer. I loved so many books and read alot. Always liked Tenessee William's especially The Glass Menagerie. Also enjoyed the Harry Potter books, started reading them when my son was in junior high. He was so excited and would tell me about the books. Had to read them because I couldn't keep muggles and the different houses at Hogwarts straight. A few of my favorites are books I read to my children. Just go to bed, the new baby and me too by Merecer Mayer and Thoms' Snowsuit by Robert Munsch. But if I had to chose an absolute favorite it would have to be a small hardcover book I've had for years simply called Irish Blessings with legends, poems and greetings. Don't read as much as I used to so I find myself drawn to the Chicken Soup books and re-reading the classics. I think I might track down some Tennesse Williams.
Can you share some pages of the Ireland book pretty please? I was actually born in Ireland and moved to the states when I was very young.
I love Emily Dickerson too. I think she had bipolar and wrote at least one poem about what the highs and lows were like.
Good morning starrlight how are you doing?
She might have had it but back in her time diagnosing wasn’t as advanced. She did write some beautiful poems though.
Good morning! ☀️😃🌞 I’m well, and you?
We missed you starrlight! Did you take a nap?
Noooooo lol 😂
Then what did you do?! Anything fun and exciting?
Hung up a mirror and preparing food for a picnic
That sounds lovely and very productive
Thanks 🙏 😊 it was a tad chilly with the wind but the sun was great for a picnic.
Thats what we are doing for dinner at the state park. We had a pool party today.
No way how fun! I wish it was warm enough here to have a pool party.
Its only warm enough today then it drops way back down. I was cizing the moment! I am trying so hard not to go to the beach so I improvised lol
I hear ya! I’d loooove love love the beach right about now! So I’m sitting in the sun at least getting some serotonin!
And now Peter pan
I have great news I hope everyone feel comfortable the COVID19 will end this April I been told from experienced trusted doctor
Eh remember there’s people from different countries on here. Even if one country can get it in control in their own country doesn’t mean it will end in another. I would hate to see people get their hopes up just for their hopes to crash because of misguided information. I’m not saying you’re wrong Im just saying please be careful about posting stuff like this. It would be nice but until its completely under control in all countries I don’t believe anything.
You are right but what I read about the doctor showed me truth and how the outbreak started the out break started in seafood marked whuan China the doctor warned his colleges about corona virus but they didn't take it seriously the doctor named Li wen liang who discovered the virus if you don't mind I would show the truth to everyone in the grope even you even me I was trapped in house the world shutdown by mistake
I read the article when it first came out. But as I said before that is a very sensitive topic for a lot of people on here. I just don’t want to see false hope floating around when everyone is dealing with a lot right now. You can share what you want though. I don’t run the website. I am just airing on the side of caution.
I wish hope come soon
I read the page chinese doctor who warned the others about of Sars Corona virus report of chinese police
May I share chinese doctor report
People in us and other countries may not know what happend
The Flowers in the Attic series.
Whats that about?
Four children locked in an attic of a castle owned by a rich grandma with murder in mind while their mom wins the love back of her dying father to be in the will again. Mom pretends the kids don't exist because they are her brothers. The series goes back to a prequel about the family lives and grandparents growing up in twisted family situations. It's so gripping.
I read it growing up too, had forgotten the story but the memory of loving it is strong.
That sounds so captivating. I will have to add it to my list of books to read.
The whole series and others by VC Andrew's are so good. Recent ones are by her family under her name since she passed. You'll be reading for weeks.
I usually read at least 3 books in a week. I am totally in need of a new series. I am a speed reader and read pretty much all night since There is nothing else to do.
I read this too
"5 o'Clock Charlie" by Marguerite Henry
Also "Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell ; "How Green was my Valley" by Richard Llewellyn; and "Housekeeping" by Marilynne Robinson
Come to mind (as books that really left an impression in my childhood)
Actually these last three had a lot of sadness in them. I definitely took consolation in them, funny how that works.
They definitely have interesting titles.
'To Kill a Mockingbird'..... and now ; 'VenusPrime', 1-6' by Arther C. Clark
Fantastic mr fox
Book or movie?
It was The Secret Garden.
Not sure about now I like loads.
Oh I totally forgot about this one too! That was a great book.
I read it over and over and watched the movie so many times xx
never read books before or now and if I get covid-19 I might never read any.
when I was 14 I read on the road by jack Kerouac and howl by Allen Ginsberg, and I was really really intrigued by the aesthetic and way the Beatnik movement challenged norms and thought
