Just want to say hello- I’m new to the group and would love any tips on how to get motivated. I’m trying to meet some basic, simple goals to improve my physical health and because of my depression, motivation is a problem...I don’t have a lot of energy.

Make a list of most important to least important tasks. Cross each off as u complete... somedays just try to do 1 thing like personal hygiene, change clothes, brush hair.. better days try make a meal for yourself, sweep floor, bring laundry down or run washer/dryer, go for a walk, sit outside, meditate, do yoga....
I can build up to more stuff but at least do 1 thing... always reward yourself after getting stuff done by having a bath, tasty sandwich, cuppa tea or whatever outside in sun... whatever 😊🌷☀️
Just get negative stuff in your head out here so there is room for positive motivation!! I’m here if u need to talk!

Welcome to this group.
So many good tips from canuckAnon ! I’ve been physically ill the last 4 days, so making a list is what I will be doing tomorrow also. Being ill makes me more depressed but I am on the mend. I do need to get re started and motivated too.

hi and welcome aboard hopefully the forum provides you with useful tips and information.in the midst of depression getting motivated is the last thing on our minds.we end up forgetting the things we enjoyed or made us feel better.setting yourself little achievable goals is a great start and reward yourself for achieving them then build up as you go along.talking with others will open up your mind and be helpful to get you out your rut.
