Hello Everyone !

I am new here, and new to my town. I recently moved due to work, and I have been here for about a month. I haven't felt right since I got here. I have had a heavy chest, sometimes hard to breathe, feeling "weird" a feeling I can't even describe, racing heart (which I recently just had an EKG and Echocardiogram and a Halter Monitor done, that all came back completely normal for a 22 yr old female) and slightly lightheaded/dizzy when I turn my head or look around to quickly. I keep telling myself it is anxiety related and every time I google a symptom (even though I shouldn't) I freak myself out even more. I just need to know that there are others out there like me, and I have others that are going through the same thing as me. I am here to help and talk to anyone that may need it, because I sure do know that I could use a friend that actually understand me ! My boyfriend of close to 8 years is somewhat helpful but he tells me "Just STOP" and that, as I am sure most of you know it like telling an alocholic to stop drinking. . My brain just "can't stop". I love to read other stories, and strange as that sounds, because it makes me glad that I am not alone, so hopefully my story can help some or at least one of you out as well.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my crazy story, much love.

-A

Hi sunshinee

Noting crazy about it at all yr story.

It's anxiety for sure ide say, I've been like it for years,

Sounds like something's bothering you and your in a state of hyper awareness and can't relax to me !

It may just be that you haven't quite settled in yet .

But yes I have all you have described regularly lol but I've had it years and just learnt to live with it.

Try not to let it panic you as that's what it wants to do , just let it wash over you it will pass in a few seconds .

Try not to be so hard on yourself

They do say moving home is one of the most stressful events ?

New town new home new unfamiliar work invirament ect causes some degree of anxiety I would think wouldn't you ?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Just it's starting to get annoying and I'm trying so hard to get over it, but I can't seem to shake it !

I moved far from home once, entirely different life, and ended up in emergency room. Bad headaches for me. Turns out it was anxiety (bf also did not understand). I like that you got checked out. It's not strange at all to want to hear other stories. It is also not crazy to feel disoriented in a new environment. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but I agree that it helps to have someone to relate to. You will find a lot of that here and you're exactly right; your story will help others. I wish you well and hope we hear more from you.

Hi Sunshinee,

You definitely have the "big A" - anxiety since the test results have ruled out a heart condition.

Your boyfriend needs some tips on supporting you. I recommend you use Dr Google to research "how to start a conversation about anxiety". You will be surprised how much information is available online.

Does your workplace have an employee assistance program to help you come to grips with the psychology of moving house and work?

PS - don't forget to have your medical records transferred over

I'm working on trying to find a doctor just to talk to, but the first appointments aren't until like September !

Just let it wash over you your young fit healthy and had a bit of stress the upside of this is of course.

That your learning things about yourself like what yr limits are as we are only human and all have limits regarding the handling of stress .

You cool your fine it will pass I'm sure.

Hi sunshinee

Nothing crazy about it. I have been having freaky heart things going on this spring as well (EKG, etc all came back normal). I didn't want to believe the doctors that it was anxiety. My friend could hear my heart from 3 feet away from me. I was so scared. Lack of sleep and being hyper aware, hyper vigilant, keep my anxiety really high and then when things back off a little and things start to feel just a bit more calm, that's when it seems like my body does crazy things.

Keep your head up. Anxiety is a beast.

Exactly ! Told was my very first day that I felt pretty good at the end of my work day I got super dizzy and light headed, felt like I as going to pass out and then my heart started racing. . Of course ! But I think it's because I didn't really eat much for lunch, and I live in 104 degree weather now. But of course my head is coming up with 100 different things it could be other than that and it keeps trying to convince its self it's one of those !

I too have those days and when I tell my boyfriend, he tells me to just relax. If it was only that easy.
