Earlier today I was washing my face side on and some water went up my nose ever since I’ve been convinced it’s in my lungs as my chest and back have really ached

As silly as you might think, i had this fear so many times , i once chocked on water and looked up if its serious due to my severe health anxiety.

I read about dry drowning and was soo worried and convinced something is wrong

Ask yourself

1)did you chock on the water

2)did you cough when you came into contact with the water

3)how long was this incident ??

In the mean while try your best to not overthink it , i know it's hard but im almost positive everything is ok

No dont apologise you didnt do anything wrong , we all get irrational thoughts from time to time , i definitely understand this because i had this particular thought many times whenever i chocked on water, but as long as its been a few hours and youre fine it means there is nothing wrong , and i believe you didnt cough or get water in your throat so the water cant reach your lungs which are already provided with a great system to fight off any liquids from entering , i say you are ok but its normal to feel scared about certain things , keep venting and writing whenever you like ;)

You haven't. If you did then everyone in the world would have it too as everyone has done that before!

I went scuba diving and my regulator failed while i was at the bottom of the sea, by the time i came back up to the surface of the water i had already inhaled quite a bit of water. I was choking a lot, and for days afterwards i was coughing up salt water. This was a year ago and i'm completely fine. If you had water in your lungs you'd develop a cough, your body's attempt to get rid of it. I'm sure you're fine

And people that swim always have water going up their nose. It's fine

I got knocked down in the ocean this past summer.

I got dragged in by the waves. My bathing suit top went up haha. So I had no choice but to take in water in order to not be exposed. ( imagine that visual) LOL

Tons of water went up my nose and I'm fine.

Healthy anxiety is real. I understand that. Don't apologize for being afraid. Come here for reassurance. Whenever in doubt always call your md.

Try and stay focused that you have no symptoms of anything being wrong. You are anxious and scared. That fills our heads with all kinds of things.
