Setraline dosage

Been on 50mg setraline since May. It definitely helped until very recently when the anxiety & suicidal ideation has come back. Will upping the dose help? This is my first time on antidepressants & I go back to the Dr. in Dec.

Talk with your doctor. You may have room to increase. That’s not unusual. Don’t increase until you speak with your doc.

Suicidal ideations are with me all day every day of my life. It doesn’t mean you act on it. I’d like to rob a bank and be on a space mission as well. That isn’t going to happen either. Just thoughts. Don’t give it more power than it deserves.

Not saying I'm going to act on it but it actually had gone away for a few months & it was nice. My mom, grandfather & uncle all took their own lives so it is really concerning when I constantly think about it.

Hi beachcomber, I was put on Sertraline after a deppressive episode and after a couple of months my anxiety increased terribly. I weaned off the Sertraline because I thought it could causing the anxiety and once I was off it it stopped . I'm on escitalopram now and for me I'm finding it the best so far ,least amount of side effects . I stress though you have to talk to your doc about it though . It's good your monitoring yourself ,Ive found it really important and do what works for you as everyone is different.
