I took seroquel years ago, I hated it. They made me more irritable and annoyed. That was my only experience with antipsychotics. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ugh so nervous to start them. I get anxious and think about how bad it could be. Then chicken out

How about thinking that they might help you instead? Why not try them and see? x

Good point hypercat

You don't know till you try them. The MD prescribes what they think may help. Why suffer looking at the package. If you don't think you are going to take it why fill the prescription ?

All medication has side effects. Try it and give it a chance to work. If you feel you can’t tolerate it discuss it with you Dr.

Good luck.

Yeah it just depends. You’re on a different antipsychotic and you’re a different person all together with different feelings, symptoms and experiences. That was just my experience. I had tried mine out for a year before I gave up on them.

I am on Quetiapine; have been for nearly 4 years now. They have really helped stabilise my mood swings (with the exception of the odd blip here and there). Some side effects but they are much more manageable than the mood swings and far more predictable. If they have been prescribed for you then there is obviously a need. Try then under your physicians supervision and remember they probably wont work overnight.

It probably depends on your condition and symptoms but I take antipsychotics and it has done a world of good for me. If it is being suggested by professionals I'm sure that it is expected to be of great help and has been well thought through. I would recommend discussing any questions or concerns with your provider beforehand to ease any worries you may have about treatments.
